Surgical technologists prep the surgery room by preparing surgical instruments and testing surgical equipment. These medical professionals also prep patients by shaving and sterilizing areas where incisions will be made. During the surgery, they hold and pass surgical instruments to doctors and nurses.
Fresno City College is California’s oldest community college. Students who want to become surgical technologists may be interested in one of the college’s surgical technology programs. MiraCosta College’s surgical technology programs are offered at its Oceanside campus.
